Happy New Year!

I will shortly be off to my sister's house for us all to see in the new year, so I thought I would take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
Once everything has settled down again after the festivities, I plan to get straight back to working on the Chosen One and the Wolf Moon.
These two ebooks I hope to get published by the end of February as I have a lot of holiday to use up before the end of January from the day job!
I shall say toodle-oo and go and get my glad rags on!
See you soon xx

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas!

So - it's finally here! Christmas Eve.
We've been to the Snowdome this afternoon at Tamworth and did tubing - I was utterly useless!!
I had two runs - that was quite enough for me thank you very much - and ended up watching for the rest of the session!
We're just going to have something to eat and then we're off for the Great Christmas Present Swapping Event at my sister's house, which is really just all of getting together and having a mince pie and a glass of wine before all going home and cosying up for the evening. I love it!!
I shall therefore say Good night, Merry Christmas and have a lovely day tomorrow.
Hope Santa brings you all your hearts desires!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

I know it's silly to get so excited about Christmas at my age but I really can't help it...
It'll be me bouncing on the kids beds on Christmas morning shouting "He's Been!!!!!" at the top of my lungs. And before you roll your eyes and mutter under your breath "Bonkers!" I know I am and I've grown to accept it. I'm comfortable with my madness these days - it's kind of who I am... ;)
I've still got a mountain of presents to wrap, the Turkey is on order and we have to collect that on Friday, I haven't quite finished all my purchases either - so I'm taking the opportunity today to go out and wrestle through the crowds to find the perfect final piece of present for my two lovely sisters. I also have to find something for my Dad's girlfriend (I use the term 'girl' somewhat loosely - he's pushing 80 and she's 75 but you get what I mean!) I don't have the faintest idea what to get, so wish me luck and think of me whilst I stand and allow everyone else to push past me - I'm ridiculously polite in a crowd situation and usually apologise to someone for standing on my toe or elbowing me in the eye - pathetic? Yeah, pretty much actually...

Wednesday 7 December 2011

I'm still a Durany!!!

OMG! Awesome concert last night!
I loved every minute of it! I don't profess to know any of their recent stuff as I kind of lost track of them for a few years. But they ROCKED!
I would definitely go and see them again. Brilliant!
I was really hoping they'd sing Ordinary World and Wild Boys and Hungry Like the Wolf and Rio and Planet Earth and Notorious - AND THEY DID!!!!!
Ahhh. I'm still on a total high - if a little deaf today - what??
I'm now writing a short story inspired by the event....
I've got a ton of ironing to do today and the bathrooms need cleaning...Yeah, the reality of being a 41 year old housewife/part time worker/writer of ebooks comes back with a thud...But last night? Last night I was 15 all over again...Bliss...   :)

Duran Duran...

Okay, I know Duran Duran aren't as good today as they were back in the eighties (back in my yoof) but I can't help it - I still love them. So when my sister asked me last year if I wanted to go and see them, I thought back to 1985 and my Dad putting his foot down and not letting me go (even though I had a ticket) to Birmingham NEC with my sisters (they were 20 and 21 at the time!!). He said the weather was too bad and my sisters weren't old enough to look after me!! I was heartbroken at the time and I'm not sure if I've actually ever forgiven him...well okay, of course I have but still - I was in love with Nick Rhodes at the time...and I decided that I had to go!
So they may be a little wrinklier and not so gorgeously handsome anymore (but let's face it - neither am I!) but I am very excited to be finally seeing my heros from back in the day! What do you think the odds are of Wham! reforming.....?
I shall tell you all about it when I get back!

Sunday 4 December 2011

The Best Weekend...

Well, it's always a good one when I don't have to work, but this weekend had been fabbyozo!
It all started on Friday afternoon when my postman delivered something that I have been looking forward to with baited breath - Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows Part Two - so we watched that on Friday night and I sobbed my socks off all over again at the sad bits...
We also watched my all time favourite Christmas Movie in the whole world - Love Actually on Saturday night after a really lovely day.
We had a lovely walk around Calke Abbey yesterday and I saw loads of birds - including a lesser spotted Woodpecker (never seen one of those before - how exciting!!!) loads of Chaffinches, Gold Finches, Green Finches, coal tits, blue tits and great tits and a robin. It was wonderful (as you know I'm a total twitcher on the quiet!)
Then today, we've been to my eldest daughter's Tae Kwon Do grading and she is now a black tag - Proud Parent Alert!!!!
I tell you - I won't ever cross her, watching her today kicking seven shades of something out of a man twice her age and size!!!!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend too!

Thursday 1 December 2011

Christmas!

Well, here it is at last, the first day of December.
Just another day for many, but for me it is the first day of Christmas - it's kinda big in our house...
So last night, when my husband got home from work he looked at me and I grinned at him like a little kid. He rolled his eyes and said. "I suppose you want me to get the decorations out of the garage roof..."
My grin got a little bigger (which with a mouth the size of mine isn't exactly difficult!)
"Yes Please!" I said.
So we trouped into the garage and the next ten minutes was spent falling out with each other spectacularly as he climbed the ladder and started lowering boxes to me.
"What the hell were you thinking - putting something this size up here?"
"I didn't put it up there - you did!"
"You packed the boxes!"
It went on like this for some time - anyone passing the house would have been laughing their socks off at the truly ridiculous domestic going on!
So - today I have the mammoth task of decorating my two beautiful christmas trees and the rest of the house. Can't wait!! I'll take a picture and put it on my page for all to see!

Onto business....
The Chosen One has finally started coming together really well. I'd kind of lost my way with it a bit - I think I was too wrapped up in Bradley's Bad Decision to concentrate on anything else - anyway I'm really happy with the way it's going, but there is no way on earth it'll be ready for Christmas - it's kind of epic....
I've done 30 000 words already and it had barely got going!
The good news is that I know exactly where I'm going with it and I've still got a few days before I have to go back to work!
So - A very Merry Christmas to all of you and have a great day!

Saturday 26 November 2011

Holiday time for me!!

So I've dragged myself out of bed this morning to go to my usual place of work which doesn't particularly fill me with joy, but at least it will be all over at 12.30pm and then I don't have to return until a week Monday!!
I have such plans for the week too...shopping, putting up the Christmas tree!
Yes I know that the 1st December is a little early to put the tree up but I don't care - I love Christmas - it's the only shining light in an otherwise very dark time of the year! I'm not a winter person...
So - have a great day and I'll be back soon with another load of rubbish to tell you!

Tuesday 22 November 2011

Time to write some more...

So - here's the thing - I've got the next two days off and I really want to get some writing done on the Chosen One.
I've been reading through what I've written so far and I'm reasonably pleased with it, but it has lots of gaps and I've not really devoted enough time to it for it to be as good as it could be.
That is about to be remedied! (Have a spelt that right????)
I'm going to get up in the morning, take the girls to school and then I'm writing and writing and writing some more!
Still haven't quite come down from seeing Breaking Dawn on Sunday...it really was superb (if you're a fan of course - it might just come across as the most bizarre thing you've ever seen if you're not...) and I loved every romantic slushy second of it!
Can't wait for the next episode this time next year...
Anyway the Chosen One is a calling me so I'll say tata and will write again tomorrow! Have a great evening xx

Sunday 20 November 2011

The Day has finally arrived....

Wooo to the Hoooo!
Breaking Dawn day!
I couldn't sleep properly last night being so excited for this movie!
I totally love this saga - I mean, it's no Harry Potter saga but I still think it's ace anyway.
And it doesn't hurt having such a good looking cast either...
Do you ever feel like you wish you'd only just discovered something - I remember reading these books for the very first time a couple years back and I just found that I couldn't put them down and I really had to just pick up the next one immediately. I have to admit I get like this with most books I read, but a few stand out from the rest - Harry Potter (obviously) and the Twilight Saga are up there on their own and the feeling you get when you read it for the first time ever - well, it's just magical...
Have a great day - I most definitely will!

Saturday 19 November 2011

Bradley's Bad Decision

It's out there!
Have just published Bradley's Bad Decision.
It doesn't get through immediately to places like Barnes and Noble or Kobo or Apple straight away, but you can get it immediately from Smashwords.com directly.
Also if you use code QD23C at the checkout you can get 50% off the purchase price until 31st January 2012.
I'm working on the next one at the moment and will also get back to The Chosen One and Three Wishes this week.
Hope you enjoy Bradley!

Only hours to go....

I'm off the the Showcase Cinema tomorrow morning with my lovely girls to see Breaking Dawn and I can't wait!!!!
The trailers are fab and the CD has been playing in the car all week!
I really love that Bruno Mars song - it's so beautiful.
Have had a lovely day today. I wasn't working so we had a lovely wander around Wollaton Park - saw some Fallow Deer and the usual Red Deer, Squirrels, Swans, Canadian Geese, Carrion Crows (by the 100!) Magpies, Terns, Gulls and loads of Mallards. It was sunny and bright and a perfect Autumnal day.
And this afternoon we've been shopping in Derby.
Plans for this evening...well, what else but X Factor!!
Whatever your plans are - have a great evening!

Wednesday 16 November 2011

It's finished!!!!!

Bradley's Bad Decision is finished!
I've just got to get the front cover designed now and it will be ready to go!
I'm really happy with this one - it's not quite as fluffy and happy ever after as the others - Bradley really has messed up and he may or may not be able to make things right this time...
Hope you love it - I do!
Laters xx

Bradley's Bad Decision

I have the day off today and I'm really hoping to get this one finished. It's gone really well this week and I've been tapping away every evening and every other given opportunity!
Because it's a series, I've also done quite a few chapters of the following one - so I'm quite pleased with the progress of that one too!
I've obviously got to create a front cover for this one and then the editing begins - but with a bit of luck and a lot of work I should be able to get this one out for the end of November.
I promise to get back to the Chosen One soon...I've kind of lost my mojo on that one for now...
As I'm writing, Bella my lovely little cat is snuggled up on the sofa next to me - she wasn't very well last week and had to have anti-biotics from the vet :(
She's a good girl though and took the tablets without any fuss or bother (she's very greedy - maybe that's the key to success!) and a took them out of our hands!
She's all better now and back to her purry self!

Saturday 12 November 2011

Bradley's Bad Decision....

Now I know that I really should be working on the Chosen One and Three Wishes, since I started both of these a looooong time ago now - but I've kind of fallen in love with Bradley's Bad Decision and I just want to write this one instead!
It's coming along nicely too - I've done around 15000 words and plan for it to be around 30000 - it depends how much I put in this one and how much will go in the next one.
The next one is all planned out in my head but I can't for the life of me think of a title and I can't think of a decent name for the main lead character either - idea's anyone?
Anyway my luck is clearly not going brilliantly this week and I find myself once again called into work - on a Saturday too - I ask you! So having checked the time I guess I should start the lengthy task of finding my shoes out of the understairs cupboard (gulp!) and try to get there on time - see ya!
Have a great weekend everybody and I'll catch up soon xxx

Friday 11 November 2011

Dull, dull day.....there's only one thing for it - Harry Potter!

For me there is nothing worse than a really overcast cloudy day. Everything just looks grey.
I love the summer when everything is bright and lovely and warm.
Today is the total opposite - dark, cloudy, miserable  - and I had to go to work!!
I'm making myself feel better now with a lovely cup of coffee, a couple of chocolate biscuits and Harry Potter on the DVD!
Absolute Bliss!

Shopping....

It's bonfire night tonight in old Blighty which means that there will be fireworks galore and that old nostalgic smell in the air from my yoof!
No one seems to have a bonfire any more except for 5th November when Political Correctness seems to disappear for the night!
So we are off to Markeaton Park for their annual display (assuming of course that the weather behaves itself - if it's throwing it down with rain then I suspect it'll be a hot date with Gary Barlow over on the X Factor instead!)
But until darkness falls we have the whole day to ourselves to go shopping...my long suffering husband looks so thrilled...not!
I'm after Christmas pressies for the girls so they are staying home (like a pair of Cinderella's they'll be...I have a list as long as my arm of household chores I've been saving for just such an occasion! heh heh heh!)
So I shall say cheerio for now and I'll write again soon - Have a great weekend, whatever you're doing have lots of fun!

Wednesday 2 November 2011

Stan, New Beginnings

Just an update on the above. I've very almost finished it - just a couple of loose ends to tie up and then the checking begins.
I'm very happy with the way things turn out - or at least I think I am - on checking it, I might decide to kill off a couple of baddies instead of incarcerating them! Who knows -depends on my mood at the time!
Anyway, having a coffee break at the moment whilst looking for my glasses - I've been working on the book all morning and now I have a headache - I really should wear them while I'm writing!
On a personal level, I'm absolutely sick of being stuck indoors today - but only because I've got to - I'm waiting on a delivery and it always makes me feel like I'm a prisoner in my own home!
I really shouldn't keep ordering stuff online.... :)
Have a great day, great week and a great weekend and I'll update you as soon as Stan is all done and ready to purchase.

Monday 31 October 2011

Happy Halloween!

Have had the best night!
Halloween is a pretty big event in our house - we decorate it all up and have the family around for the evening.
All the kids in the neighbourhood go trick or treating and they get a surprise when they come to ours.
Tonight we had gravestones in the garden lit up with tea lights in jam-jars. The chiminea was lit and we were all in the conservatory which was lit up with halloween lanterns and carved out pumpkins lit from the inside with tea lights too.
I was dressed as Bellatrix Le Strange. Both of my lovely girls were pirates, and amongst the guests were zombies, slytherins (complete with dark marks!) witches, wizards and vampires.
It was great fun and I'm completely exhausted now!
We are now looking forward to Saturday night, which is of course Bonfire Night - think we'll be visiting Markeaton Park at Derby for their annual fireworks event - I can't wait!!
As soon as that's over I start looking forward to Christmas!!!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Monday 24 October 2011

We shopped till we dropped...

Have had the best day today!
With it being half-term holiday, my lovely husband and I have both taken time off work until Thursday to have a mini holiday.
The original plan was to go back to the South West (probably Newquay) for five days to have a last of the sunshine kind of holiday. We couldn't find anywhere to go in the end, so we're just chillin' at home with the girls.
Anyway. we decided that we'd take a trip up the motorway to Meadowhall for the day. It was brill!
It's a fabulous shopping centre anyway, but it's even better when you can find everything you want to get too!
And since it's been such a lovely sunny day, we rounded it off with a wander around Attenborough Nature reserve and saw lots of birds - in no particular order, blue tit, great tit, robin, blackbird, lapwing, cormorant, black headed gull, great crested grebe, swan, egyptian geese, pink footed geese, mallards (by the hundreds!) moorhens...I'll stop there - I could go on for pages! Unless you weren't quite aware of my love (maybe that should read obsession) for birds - I kinda like em!
Have a great week xxx

Friday 21 October 2011

Holidays!

Woooohoooo! I'm off for five days now!
I don't think we'll be doing anything particularly exciting, but it's still a nice break from the old routine innit?
We're definitely going to town tomorrow to do a little shopping and then we have four days to do as we like. Brilliant.
I'm hoping that the Euro Millions lottery will be kind to me and give me the winning ticket, but since that isn't really likely I'm not pinning too much hope on it...
Ooh, exciting stuff - Autumn watch tonight...yes I know I only watch it because of Chris Packham...and then tomorrow night is X Factor  - if that Frankie bloke gets through again I'm not going to watch anymore!!!!!
Anyways, have a great weekend and I'm sure I shall be writing again soon (particularly if that Frankie bloke gets through....!)

Monday 10 October 2011

Stan, New Beginnings

I've picked Stan back up with plenty of enthusiasm - I've completed around 17000 words - I would guess that the final book will be around 40-50000 words. I'm really enjoying this one now and I'm hoping to have all but finished it by November.
Anyway, I'm totally exhausted tonight and I'm going to take myself off to my bed now with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (yes, I'm reading them again!)
Goodnight!

Thursday 6 October 2011

Stan, Remember Me

I've read this through now too and now I'm raring to go and finish New Beginnings - while I was reading, I noticed a couple more typos so I've uploaded a new version again. Ooops!!!
Not sure I'll be getting any done tonight - we've got to go to our eldest daughter's school to choose what A Level's she'll be taking next year at 6th form; so by the time we've done that and maybe even dropped into the Chinese takeaway on the way home it will likely be too late to start trying to be creative!
I've had a very long day at work today too so I think I shall just chill and put my feet up!!
Have a nice evening and I'll be back very soon!

Wednesday 5 October 2011

Update on Stan...

Okay, so I've re-read through Stan and Molly and I'm just starting on remember me - have found a few typo's and have rectified them - have uploaded new versions of both books to Smashwords and as far as I know from Smashwords, those who have purchased the book can upload the latest version for free.
I've got to admit - I much prefer the book from Stan's point of view!
Anyway, I'm putting on my specs because I now have a headache from speed reading 80,000 or so words so far today and I'm powering through the next one....

Today's plan of action

I'm going to refresh myself on Stan and Remember Me and then I'm going to aim for at least 10000 words on New Beginnings.
Well, that's the plan...I'll let you know how things pan out!
I've also got all the housework (well I say that - a flick round with the duster and the vac should make it look half decent).
Have a great day everyone and I'll post again tonight to let you know how I did.

Monday 3 October 2011

Amethyst is out there!

Amethyst's Dating Game is now published!
I've finally finished it properly and it's available to purchase through all the usual channels (or will be once it filters through from Smashwords)
The next one out should be the final instalment of Stan, but I'm also planning on working on the Chosen One and Three Wishes this week...well of course that's the plan, but nothing I do ever seems to go entirely to plan! Ha - never mind!
I think our mini heat wave is at an end - it's still really warm tonight but there's a lot of cloud around. Booooo!
Still, we had a great weekend of bar-b-queing - did a whole chicken last night! Weber bbq's - you can't beat em!

Wednesday 28 September 2011

Oh Happy Day (Oh Happy Day) Oh Happy Daa-a-ay!!!

Good Morning!
And what a perfect day it is too.
Always a bonus when I have the day off anyway - but glorious sunshine and temperatures promising to hit the mid twenties - what more can a girl ask for?
I'm sitting here this morning, squinting at my screen as the sun streams in through my windows - making a lovely smoky haze since I burned the toast... :/
I've opened the windows - I'm sure it'll clear soon, ahem!
I'm planning the next book in the Seltham series, following Amethyst's Dating Game and I've got a few decent ideas going on.
It's also turning into a planning the book after that, since there'll be too much going on in the one book otherwise. So look out for Bradley's Bad Decision, since I think I've decided on that being the next one...unless I come up with something else in the meantime!

Sunday 25 September 2011

How To Talk To A Widower, Jonathan Tropper

I've read loads of books and I mean loads...
I read all of the time. Mostly nice fluffy stuff with happy endings (I don't like anything that doesn't have a happy ending and I know that's my own personal problem but hey - it works for me).
Sometimes though, I pick up a book and it grips me, even though I know it may very well not have a happy ending, or it may traumatise me along the way or it may stay with me for years after I've read it and that's why I avoid them...
It's happened. I picked it up...I picked this book up off the kitchen table at work the other day and I am HOOKED!
It's sad and funny and brilliant all at once. The language is a little rich (it's aimed at an adult audience) but still it is possibly one of the best books I've ever read. I suspect it will stay with me for a while. (Don't even mention The Time Traveller's Wife to me!) but heck to it - life isn't always the way you want it! Read it for yourself and decide...

Friday 23 September 2011

I love Tangled

Just watching tangled (disney movie) with my daughters.
This is the best Disney movie EVER!!
Frying Pans - who knew?

Wednesday 21 September 2011

Gooooood Morning!

The sun is shining!
I'm just starting to get a little fed up of 4 Music The Breakfast Fix.... my daughter is not feeling well this morning and is making herself feel better with E4 and 4 Music (grrrr)
Oh joy - now she's getting out her box set of Ugly Betty...think I'll go back to bed....

Tuesday 20 September 2011

It's raining....

I know I shouldn't moan because it has been a ridiculously dry year, but I hate the rain!
Still, I'm trying to think of the positives and my pumpkins should be swelling nicely in the garden :)
I haven't the foggiest what my celeriacs are doing, but my purple sprouting brocolli seems to have survived the attack of the cabbage whites over the summer. (I'm quite into this organic gardening lark - and who cares if you have to cut out the odd grub or two?)
Our plum tree gave us a magnificent crop this year- I've got more jars of plum jam than I've got storage...
I'm just looking out of the window and there's the most enormous spider web, complete with big hairy spider right in the middle (gulp :/) and the rain drops make it look all spooky - I think I feel a spooky halloween short story coming on...

Saturday 17 September 2011

Amethyst is finished!!!

I'm happy to report that Amethyst is officially finished and I've even made a start on the next one, which may or may not be called Bradley's Bad Decision (but could just as easily be Sophie's Secret or something else entirely!)
Anyway. It is now being edited and added to etc to make it just the way I want it before publication.
I shall tell you as soon as it is ready and published. But I promise that it will publish it within the timescale I have promised - if not before.
The next book to be published after Amethyst is going to be the last one in the Stan series, which I shall start work on again next week.
Have a great weekend xx

Wednesday 14 September 2011

Happy, Happy, Happeeeee!!!!!

Just writing the finishing chapters and filling in the blanks of Amethyst's Dating Game and setting up the introductions for the next one in the Seltham Community College Series.
Once I've done that, it'll be the terribly boring period of editing and checking the whole thing and then I'll have to think about a front cover and then it will be ready for publishing yippee!!
I've been busily tapping away at it all day and I'm really pleased with it.
Unfortunately I won't get much done for the rest of the week as I'm back at the day job....
One day - all this will be my day job...and that will be absolutely fantastic!

Monday 12 September 2011

Amethyst...

Have written loads over the weekend and it's coming on a treat!
I was a bit stuck to be honest with the plot line and I've been shelving it and shelving waiting for inspiration - I was cured over the weekend when inspiration struck and I've been tapping away ever since!
I'm really happy with it now and I know exactly what I've got to do with the next 15-20,000 or so words to put it all together and make it good.
I also know what the basic plot line will be for the next one, but I'm still struggling for a title so I've got to do a bit of brainstorming on that one.
Anyway, I'll get back to the one in hand and I'll worry about that one later...
See ya xxx

Friday 9 September 2011

New Book Covers

I've been giving my Seltham Community College ebooks a facelift. I don't feel that the front covers as they currently stand make it obvious that they are part of a series, so I'm working on a "Seltham Community College #1,2,3" etc. They're working quite well and I'll get them uploaded soon.
I've been working on my Three Wishes story today, which is about Kit the Genie and it's coming on quite well. I can't see this being quite as long as my usual story length's so it will fit in nicely with my short stories I think - we'll see. It might get more novella sized...
Also working on Amethyst and The Chosen One, but since I'm at work (the day job - boooo!) most of next week, I can't see me getting much done :(
I will of course, keep you posted on developments...

Additional stories about Jonah, Adam and Oscar

I am in the process of writing a short piece about the Byrnes brothers' life at Belvoir Creek.
I thought it would be nice for us to be able to see how they got on with life there, as they lived there for a couple of years before they moved back to Fernley.
Adam is still the same - of course he is, he isn't going to change is he??
So you'll get to know a little more about Loraine and his relationship, also how Jonah ended up going to the Prom with Stephanie and of course how she ended up going home with Adam.
I'll add stories as I write them to my website: heathermar-gerrison.co.uk on the extras page.
They should be appearing within the next week or so.
Hope you like them!

Back to work...

Urghhh!!!!
I so do not feel like going back to the day job this morning!
Still, I'll see all my buddies so it's not so bad.
I'm planning on writing the rest of Stan, New Beginnings this month and getting it out there in November and I'm also looking at Amethyst's Dating Game. I'm struggling to find a name for my next one in this series. I was thinking of something like "Sophie's Secret" or "Brad's Bad Decision" or something - any ideas anyone?
Ah, well, I'm sure something will hit me right between the eyes when I'm supposed to be doing something at work today! (It usually does - I keep a note pad on my desk just for my ideas!)
Anyways, time's a wastin' and I gotta go!

Midnight Moon released!

I am reliably informed that all editing has been completed and I have therefore today published my latest ebook, Midnight Moon.
I've got to tell you that I really do like this one - I think I might even like the characters better than the ones in the Stan Trilogy - particularly Jonah....
Anyway, I shall of course update this site with my next book that is coming soon and the like, and I will also post another taster on my additional page so you have something else to read before it comes out...
Hope you love Jonah as much as I do!

Home, Sweet Home!

Ahhh. So nice to be home.
I love going on holiday, but equally - I love coming home again.
It's so nice to cuddle the cat and kick back and relax.
I will definitely go back to St Ives again. It's a really beautiful part of England and I really love the sea. Being in the middle of the country just doesn't give you the same views!
Anyway, now that I'm home again, it's back to work on those books that I've been neglecting for the past seven days!
Midnight Moon will definitely be out in the next week or two. Just tidying up the last bits of editing and reading through to make sure it really does make sense. Then I'll get cracking on Amethyst's Dating Game, which I've really been neglecting for a while.
After I've got that one finished, I might try to get The Chosen One somewhere near completed and of course there's the last one in the Stan Trilogy to finish. Good Heavens - I've got a lot to do haven't I???
Better go then and get started! See you later xx

St Ives

We're going back to St Ives today for another look around. We didn't see much of it the other day.
There's a charming little train station just down the road from where we are staying and behind it are the saltings marshes where I've seen most of the birds I've never seen before!
All the way in to St Ives, there are fabulous coastal views. It's not very far to drive, but there isn't really anywhere to park the car so the train is perfect.
And once again the weather is being very kind to us. Glorious sunshine at the moment!

Tuesday 30 August 2011

What a great day!

Have had the best day.
We went to Falmouth, as planned and looked around for most of the day.
Then later on this afternoon we hit the beach and then tonight we went for a drink and got a takeaway curry on the way back!
It was right nice too!
See you later xx

Off to Falmouth today

Going to Falmouth today so I shall write all about it later.
Obviously being on holiday I haven't gotten around to much writing this week, so I'll hopefully find a little time later on this week when we're back home.

Monday 29 August 2011

St Michael's Mount

What a lovely day again! The weather is being so kind to us this week.
We went to St Michael's Mount today. You can walk to it across a causeway which is very interesting.
Once you get there, it has a gift shop to browse, a cafe to sit and enjoy the views with a drink and a scone with clotted cream and jam (yum!).
We went up to the castle, but there were so many visitors we decided against going inside and instead we sat on the grassy cliff looking out over the beautiful sea and had our picnic!
Later on this afternoon, we have been down to the beach and I watched my family from my vantage point surfing the waves - I might add, I'm no swimmer!
I got some lovely photos of a flock of sandpipers though! At least I think they're sandpipers - I'm still not sure.

MUSE

Did you see Muse at Reading and Leeds?
Well, sadly I didn't get to actually be there this time but I did see the coverage on BBC3 last night and once again they didn't disappoint!
Absolutely Brilliant. I Love Muse!!!!
My only complaint was that BBC didn't show enough of the concert.

Sunday 28 August 2011

What A Lovely Day!

Went to Land's End today. What a lovely place it is.
The views were stunning. I'm sure it helped that the weather was absolutely fantastic too.
We had a lovely picnic and I got myself a fridge magnet (I must admit I like to collect them!)
I took loads of pictures and as soon as I get home I will be able to load them onto my computer and I shall showcase my best ones right here!
Birds: Starlings, Sparrows, Swallows, Seagulls, Rooks, Jackdaws and black headed gulls - I heard some skylarks too but I didn't actually see any. Oh - and on the way back there were two birds of prey circling - I'm almost certain they were buzzards because I'd seen one sitting on a post the other day in the same area - superb!

Pirates maybe...

Going to Penzance today and Lands End...I'm sure I'll be inspired to write a story full of pirates and the like after going there!
And I know I'm sad, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what birds are there too!
I shall report my findings later.... :)

Saturday 27 August 2011

Birds, birds everywhere!!!!

We're in St Ives and it is beautiful!
I'm particularly taken with all the different birds I've spotted (I'm a bit of a twitcher on the quiet).
Curlew
Common Sandpipers
Oyster Catchers
Heron
Little Egret
Reed Warbler
To name a few!
I'll keep adding to my list - I'm very proud of it!!!

Friday 26 August 2011

St Ives!!!!!

Heyyyy! We're here.
I must say, St Ives so far is very very lovely.
Our little house is lovely and clean and tidy. We've filled the fridge with goodies and the sun is shining too - can't be bad!
I'm very much looking forward to a week of relaxing in the sun!

St Ives Here We Come...

Wooo Hoooo!!!! Only one day to go and were off to St Ives for a week. Yes, okay - perhaps not the most glamorous location in the whole world, but I really love Cornwall and we've never been to St Ives before.
We usually go to Newquay, which is a firm favourite of ours. (So is Bournemouth in Dorset - in fact Julia stays in the same hotel as we did in Julia's Horoscopes!)
St Ives may well turn up in a future book!
I've packed, the house is looking lovely, the cat's being fed by my lovely next door neighbour - it's all good!

Wednesday 24 August 2011

Nearly done...

Okay so I was out by an hour and a half!
Still nowhere near finished but the house looks lovely!
All the washing has been done, most of the ironing. Screaming matches have all been successfully managed and we're all still talking to each other!

This is the plan....

Right, it's 7.30am and I'm making my plan for the day. Dishwasher on - check. Ironing pile at the ready - check. Kids both still snoring in their beds (well of course - they are teenagers!) check.
I'm going to clean the house, strip the beds, pack the clothes for our holly-wollys and if my calculations are correct (who am I kidding - I never was any good at maths) I'll be done for 2pm and then I can settle down and write some more!
Here's hoping....

Tuesday 23 August 2011

My headache has gone...

Very pleased to report that my headache has now passed - may well have that bottle of wine tonight then ;)
Also very pleased to report that I have now (or at least I think I have) got my facebook page up and running too!
I am going to spend some time tomorrow writing, but I have got to pack as we're off on our hols!! Sun sea and sand hopefully - or at the very least sea and sand - I haven't checked the weather report...

Monday 22 August 2011

:( I've got a headache!

I'm not happy. I've got a killer of a headache and it's just not budging this afternoon!
I'm going to persuade my lovely husband to come for a nice long walk around the nature reserve to get rid of it.
Since I've not been feeling it since I got in from work, I think I'll give my writing a miss this evening and just kick back and relax.
Might even buy a bottle of wine....although that ain't gonna help the head is it?
Looks like it's an orange squash and a hot date with Jamie Oliver at 9 o'clock - good times :)

Midnight Moon and The Wolf Moon

I have now finished writing Midnight Moon and it's going through the lengthy and boring process of being edited. I've made a flying start on The Wolf Moon and I'm really excited about it too!
I've put the first three chapters of Midnight Moon on my website over at www.heathermar-gerrison.co.uk on the extras page, so you can have a browse.
I'll do the same with The Wolf Moon once I get far enough with the story that I won't have gone right back to the beginning and changed everything! (Something I must admit I do a lot of!)
Anyway. It's off to the day job this morning (booooo) so I'll sign off and see you guys later!

Tuesday 16 August 2011

Amethyst's Dating Game

I'm sat in the conservatory with Muse playing on the ipod. The wind is getting up a little outside and I'm fairly sure we'll get a drop or two of rain any second....now!
I'm writing a little bit of Amethyst today. I haven't visiting my old friends from Seltham for a while, having been concentrating on the good folks in my Midnight Moon saga. That one is almost finished now and I've made a start on The Wolf Moon which is the second one in the series (I hadn't planned on a serialised story but then I kind of fell in love with the characters and just had to carry on!)

So Amethyst has made a bit of a pact with Selina to get each other a date with their respective crushes. Selina's is proving somewhat difficult being in the "Friend Zone" (The worst place to be - obviously)
Selina got Amethyst her date with no worries at all except for the fact that he was already going out with someone else...oh dear. The course of true love never did run smooth I guess....
The rest of the cast are still around for a while, although we'll be saying goodbye to a couple of them at the end of the book and then I'll have to start bringing in more new ones....It's a tough job but someones gotta do it!

Stan, Remember Me...

At last!! Stan, Remember Me is now available for download from Smashwords.com at $2.99.
I have also reduced Stan from $5.99 to $2.99.
I am working on the last one at the present time and hope to have this finished by November 2011.
Hope you enjoy it as much as do writing them!

Wednesday 27 July 2011

Midnight Moon, Stan and Amethyst...

I've been working on this Vampire/Shape-shifter book this week and I've finally got to a point that I'm happy with.
I'm hoping to start getting it edited soon and then I need to create the front cover etc.
Should be published towards September.
Stan, Remember Me is also finished and will be published next month and I will then start work on Amethyst's Dating Game for November and Stan, New Beginnings too.
Also I'm getting on very well with my new website, which will be up and running very soon. I'm very busy writing short stories about the characters to give you more background information, which will be available to read on the web site for free.
I shall write again soon!
Oh - just one more thing - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D - never has there been a better Harry Potter movie - I cried through most of it!!!!

Stan, Remember Me...

Getting really close to finishing this book now and I've already made a start on the last one of the trilogy.I've uploaded trailers for the first two of my books about Stan to YouTube and also for Becky's Diary and Julia's Horoscopes. I plan to do trailers for all of the Seltham Community College series and I'm working on the illustrations now. I will also do them for Re:Vamp and Eternally Yours.
The next books that I'm working on will be The Chosen One and Midnight Moon and I'm really getting quite excited about starting them.
Check out the video's on YouTube - I add them as I get them done. Just type my name into the search and they all come up.

Sunday 19 June 2011

I'm going to get Premier seating and I'm going to love it!!!!
Harry Potter is my all time hero!!!!!

Thursday 16 June 2011

Stan, Remember me...

This one is coming along nicely now - I've got about three-quarters of the way through and I've also written the final two chapters of the last one in the trilogy which I am very pleased with.
I've just got to fill in the all the blanks now!
As soon as my Stan trilogy is finished, my next target it to finish off The Chosen One, which I still pick up and have a go at every now and then.
After that, I plan to finish Amethyst's Dating Game and I really should go back to Three Wishes too...but I've started writing one called Midnight Moon and I'm very excited about it....dilemmas!

Sunday 5 June 2011

Back from my holidays...

I have been away to Dorset with my lovely family for the past week and haven't been able to update my blog - no internet access arghhhhh!!!!
However, with all that spare time, I was able to read through my books and I have updated everything and uploaded new versions of all my books to Smashwords.
I also re-discovered a book that I started writing a long time ago and have thought up a different angle so I'm enjoying writing that at the moment - this one will be called Midnight Moon...
Still working on all my other projects at the same time of course - I never stop!
I'll write again very soon.

Monday 23 May 2011

Stan is finally out there!!!!

I have today uploaded my latest book, Stan.
I'm in the process of editing Molly, Stan In his own words. Which is his side of the same story. This will also go on sale by the end of this week.
Both can be purchased through Smashwords.com.
I'm working on the follow up, Stan, Remember Me... which continues their adventures.

I'm really excited about this trilogy and I'm trying to get a little video sorted out for YouTube to promote the book - it's a slow process when you're getting on a bit! I've done a few of the illustrations but so many more are needed. :) Still I've got all this week off work so I'm confident at the moment!
What can I say? I love Stan!!

Saturday 14 May 2011

Stan...

Stan's finished. Just being edited now by my editing guru....I am drawing pictures like crazy at the moment for my You Tube trailer - it may never get there, but we're working on it at the mo - I'll keep you posted!
Working on Stan...Remember Me... as I'm posting this - whilst watching Britain's Got Talent - I gotta say, some of the acts are really bad!!!! But most are great so woohooo to them!!!!

Tuesday 10 May 2011

Stan...

Yes, I'm sure you're getting sick of my obsession with Stan - but it's not going away any time soon!
I'm currently adding in chapters that I feel were missing when I read through the whole thing - and also a lengthy explanation of how Stan knows something in the final chapters that hadn't been explained at all!
I love the editing bit - you find all the things that make you go 'what the...?????'
So once I've finished my adding and deleting and saving for later etc etc I shall be looking at uploading it to the very wonderful Smashwords.com for distribution! Can't wait!
I'm doing really well with Stan - In His Own Words (the same book only from his point of view) too. It's coming on a treat.
Stan - Remember Me... will probably be out around about July-August. I've made a decent start but life has just got ridiculously busy and I have no time to myself at the moment - grrrr!!!
I don't know if I've already mentioned - the third and final in my Stan series will be called Stan - New Beginnings...make of that what you will!

Thursday 5 May 2011

Stan, Remember Me...

I have almost finished "Stan" and I am working on the follow up, "Stan, Remember Me..." at the moment. I am incredibly excited about this trilogy. I really think it's the best thing I've ever written.
I've also written the first book, Stan entirely from Stan's point of view as well, so after I have completed both "Stan" (from Molly's point of view - the original) and "Remember Me," I will get his story out there too. I'm not sure what I'll call it at the moment. I'm still working on that one!
I've decided that the last one in the trilogy is going to be called "Stan, New Beginnings..." but I haven't even started writing that one yet - that plot is currently running through my head at a million miles an hour and I haven't caught up with it yet to capture it and wrestle it to the ground! (well that's what it feels like sometimes!)
Although Stan has completely taken over my life right now, I will get back to the "Chosen One" some time soon and I occasionally check back into Seltham Community College to see what the students are up to - you can expect "Amethyst's Dating Game" to be available for download from Smashwords around the end of July. See you later xx

Sunday 1 May 2011

Stan's point of view

Check out my other page for Stan's point of view. I've published the first chapter in his story so you get a feel for his character.
I love Stan - it's the best thing I feel I've written and I'm really excited about it.
I'm currently editing and improving Stan for publication through Smashwords and would expect it to be available for download from the end of May - if that changes I will post updates here, as usual.
Let me know what you think about Stan... :)

Sunday 24 April 2011

Stan...Book One.

This one is coming on a treat. Look out for posts on my "Other Stories" page. They will be excerpts from my up-coming books, plus other Character points of view.
Stan is going to be a trilogy. I'm around half-way through the first one at the moment and I'm really excited about this one. I think it's the best thing I've ever written. But of course, you'll have to decide that for yourself!

Monday 18 April 2011

Stan

Have just been writing my new story about Stan - it's going very well. I've written 3000 words tonight.
I'm at work (day job - booooo!) tomorrow, but then I'm off for a few days so I'm hoping to write quite a lot more while my head is buzzing with the new ideas!
I shall keep you posted!

Wednesday 13 April 2011

A lovely day off...

Isn't it just soooo typical. It's my day off today (from the day job) and the weather - which has been gloriously sunny and mostly warm for the past few days - has changed! :( It's all gloomy and cold. Boooo!
Ahh well. At least I can settle down in my lovely cosy chair and tap away on my laptop - working on The Chosen One today I think! I shall put Muse on continuous play and let my mind wander into unknown territory and write it all down!!! See you later xxx

Tuesday 12 April 2011

Harry Potter...

As you know I am an uber fan of all things Harry Potter. I am very excited that I have now got my new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One DVD and I'm planning to watch it on Friday night with my (long suffering) husband and girls! I'm thinking a nice meal (butter them up!) and a bottle of nice red wine (for me and my husband - not the girls!) then on with the show!!
Have got the next two days off work, so I am planning to fit in some writing - still got a bit of writers block with the Chosen One and totally don't know where to go with Stan.... :-(
One a brighter note, I am in the final planning stages of my next one in my High School Series, Amethyst's Dating Game so I shall be making a start on that one very soon. I expect to be publishing that one (all things going well) around the end of May, possibly June.

Sunday 23 January 2011

Joe's Nemesis

Yay! Finished Joe's Nemesis this afternoon! Have just got to proof read it through to make sure it all makes sense and follows through properly. I am now planning the follow-up, Lauren's Magnificent Production.
I'm also working on two other projects at the moment. Another Vampire story, about a 2nd Generation vampire boy and a shape-shifter girl. Plenty of juicy ideas floating around in my head!!
I'm taking my two beautiful girls to see JLS tonight - should be a good night (for them at least!!)

Monday 10 January 2011

Eternally Yours

I have now published Eternally Yours on Smashwords.com  The price is $2.99 ( or UK equivalent).
I'm really pleased with it and I may even re-visit Heron Cove with another one - just need to think up a decent plot for bringing them all back out of retirement!!
I am happy to announce that I have thought up a new plot that I am very excited about and have started the outline of this story. I really have to shelve it for a short spell though as I have not been working very hard on Joe's Nemesis, which I really need to get finished! Hope you enjoy reading Eternally Yours as much as I enjoyed writing it and I shall write soon xxx

Saturday 1 January 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all!
Had a fantastic new years eve party last night, great company, good food, good drink (and plenty of it!) and great music.
We set off a few chinese lanterns at midnight which went really well and watched thousands more pass overhead that had been set off by others. It was beautiful!
Am now going to have a wonderfully lazy day with the family and I might tap away on the keys adding bits here and there to my works in progress...
Have a very Happy and Prosperous New Year xxx
