Happy New Year!

I will shortly be off to my sister's house for us all to see in the new year, so I thought I would take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year!
Once everything has settled down again after the festivities, I plan to get straight back to working on the Chosen One and the Wolf Moon.
These two ebooks I hope to get published by the end of February as I have a lot of holiday to use up before the end of January from the day job!
I shall say toodle-oo and go and get my glad rags on!
See you soon xx

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas!

So - it's finally here! Christmas Eve.
We've been to the Snowdome this afternoon at Tamworth and did tubing - I was utterly useless!!
I had two runs - that was quite enough for me thank you very much - and ended up watching for the rest of the session!
We're just going to have something to eat and then we're off for the Great Christmas Present Swapping Event at my sister's house, which is really just all of getting together and having a mince pie and a glass of wine before all going home and cosying up for the evening. I love it!!
I shall therefore say Good night, Merry Christmas and have a lovely day tomorrow.
Hope Santa brings you all your hearts desires!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

I know it's silly to get so excited about Christmas at my age but I really can't help it...
It'll be me bouncing on the kids beds on Christmas morning shouting "He's Been!!!!!" at the top of my lungs. And before you roll your eyes and mutter under your breath "Bonkers!" I know I am and I've grown to accept it. I'm comfortable with my madness these days - it's kind of who I am... ;)
I've still got a mountain of presents to wrap, the Turkey is on order and we have to collect that on Friday, I haven't quite finished all my purchases either - so I'm taking the opportunity today to go out and wrestle through the crowds to find the perfect final piece of present for my two lovely sisters. I also have to find something for my Dad's girlfriend (I use the term 'girl' somewhat loosely - he's pushing 80 and she's 75 but you get what I mean!) I don't have the faintest idea what to get, so wish me luck and think of me whilst I stand and allow everyone else to push past me - I'm ridiculously polite in a crowd situation and usually apologise to someone for standing on my toe or elbowing me in the eye - pathetic? Yeah, pretty much actually...

I'm still a Durany!!!

OMG! Awesome concert last night!
I loved every minute of it! I don't profess to know any of their recent stuff as I kind of lost track of them for a few years. But they ROCKED!
I would definitely go and see them again. Brilliant!
I was really hoping they'd sing Ordinary World and Wild Boys and Hungry Like the Wolf and Rio and Planet Earth and Notorious - AND THEY DID!!!!!
Ahhh. I'm still on a total high - if a little deaf today - what??
I'm now writing a short story inspired by the event....
I've got a ton of ironing to do today and the bathrooms need cleaning...Yeah, the reality of being a 41 year old housewife/part time worker/writer of ebooks comes back with a thud...But last night? Last night I was 15 all over again...Bliss...   :)

Duran Duran...

Okay, I know Duran Duran aren't as good today as they were back in the eighties (back in my yoof) but I can't help it - I still love them. So when my sister asked me last year if I wanted to go and see them, I thought back to 1985 and my Dad putting his foot down and not letting me go (even though I had a ticket) to Birmingham NEC with my sisters (they were 20 and 21 at the time!!). He said the weather was too bad and my sisters weren't old enough to look after me!! I was heartbroken at the time and I'm not sure if I've actually ever forgiven him...well okay, of course I have but still - I was in love with Nick Rhodes at the time...and I decided that I had to go!
So they may be a little wrinklier and not so gorgeously handsome anymore (but let's face it - neither am I!) but I am very excited to be finally seeing my heros from back in the day! What do you think the odds are of Wham! reforming.....?
I shall tell you all about it when I get back!

The Best Weekend...

Well, it's always a good one when I don't have to work, but this weekend had been fabbyozo!
It all started on Friday afternoon when my postman delivered something that I have been looking forward to with baited breath - Harry Potter, Deathly Hallows Part Two - so we watched that on Friday night and I sobbed my socks off all over again at the sad bits...
We also watched my all time favourite Christmas Movie in the whole world - Love Actually on Saturday night after a really lovely day.
We had a lovely walk around Calke Abbey yesterday and I saw loads of birds - including a lesser spotted Woodpecker (never seen one of those before - how exciting!!!) loads of Chaffinches, Gold Finches, Green Finches, coal tits, blue tits and great tits and a robin. It was wonderful (as you know I'm a total twitcher on the quiet!)
Then today, we've been to my eldest daughter's Tae Kwon Do grading and she is now a black tag - Proud Parent Alert!!!!
I tell you - I won't ever cross her, watching her today kicking seven shades of something out of a man twice her age and size!!!!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend too!

Christmas!

Well, here it is at last, the first day of December.
Just another day for many, but for me it is the first day of Christmas - it's kinda big in our house...
So last night, when my husband got home from work he looked at me and I grinned at him like a little kid. He rolled his eyes and said. "I suppose you want me to get the decorations out of the garage roof..."
My grin got a little bigger (which with a mouth the size of mine isn't exactly difficult!)
"Yes Please!" I said.
So we trouped into the garage and the next ten minutes was spent falling out with each other spectacularly as he climbed the ladder and started lowering boxes to me.
"What the hell were you thinking - putting something this size up here?"
"I didn't put it up there - you did!"
"You packed the boxes!"
It went on like this for some time - anyone passing the house would have been laughing their socks off at the truly ridiculous domestic going on!
So - today I have the mammoth task of decorating my two beautiful christmas trees and the rest of the house. Can't wait!! I'll take a picture and put it on my page for all to see!

Onto business....
The Chosen One has finally started coming together really well. I'd kind of lost my way with it a bit - I think I was too wrapped up in Bradley's Bad Decision to concentrate on anything else - anyway I'm really happy with the way it's going, but there is no way on earth it'll be ready for Christmas - it's kind of epic....
I've done 30 000 words already and it had barely got going!
The good news is that I know exactly where I'm going with it and I've still got a few days before I have to go back to work!
So - A very Merry Christmas to all of you and have a great day!
