What Happens with Vegas... coming soon...

I scowled at Mum, “I’m bored.”
Mum rolled her eyes and put her book down, “I’m not.” She said cheerfully, “I’ve got one day off and I’m perfectly content.” There was a warning tone there somewhere but I chose to ignore it and ploughed on.
I felt all stuffy and clogged up being trapped inside and I really just wanted to get out somewhere and do something. The problem was that the universe didn’t revolve around me. I really just wanted to stretch my legs and have some fun. But since I’d spent my last few pennies on an adorable little outfit for Nevada that really would look gorgeous on him once he grew into it, I had no money to spend and nowhere I could go that would entertain me. Particularly since the weather had also ruled out going for a nice walk or a jog by deciding that today it was going to be humid and rainy. Great. No fun for me there.
I slumped onto the sofa feeling simultaneously utterly deflated and fidgety and restless.
“There isn’t even anything for me to eat.” I complained. There was a fridge full of food but none that I particularly wanted to eat. It all had to be cooked or prepared or it was just far too healthy and lacking in chocolate to make me feel any better. I really shouldn’t boredom eat anyway – I’d put back on all the weight I’d finally gotten rid of after my pregnancy.
“Well what do you want?” My mother sighed, reluctantly looking up from her book once again.
“I don’t know! Well – I do know; I want some milk chocolate digestives but I finished the pack days ago and I don’t have any money to buy myself a new packet.” I felt a little bit like a sulking, petulant child and rebuked myself that I was a responsible adult with a baby and I shouldn’t whine over biscuits.
“They’re on sale at the minute. I think I’ve got a pound in my purse. Take that, walk to the shop and buy yourself a packet. That solves all your problems. You can walk there so you’re out of the house, you’ll have something to do so you won’t be bored and you can get yourself the biscuits you want – you could even take Nevada for a walk – he needs the fresh air.”
I shifted uncomfortably on my feet.
“I don’t want to…”
“Oh for goodness sake, you’re impossible!” she shrieked slamming her book down and glaring at me over the top of her glasses.

Yeah, I guess I was. I gave her an apologetic smile, “Soz.”

Coming Soon....

Kallie's Secret and The Watchtower

“Do you think we’ll ever be able to live a normal life?” I asked.
Kelsey shrugged and looked at Kyle. Kyle was the most optimistic of the lot of us. He grinned and nodded, “Of course we will – shit happens right?”
“Right,” We both agreed.
He smiled in his beautiful sunny way, “Well, assuming everything is balanced and karma exists – it must stand to reason that there will be times when it doesn’t happen.”
I shook my head and gave him a ghost of a smile back. “I love your thinking, dude – but I’ll never be happy again if we don’t find her.”
His smile faded. “Yeah – I know. I think she’s still alive – when I try to talk to her in my head, I get a powerful buzzing – like there’s interference on the line – you know?”
I nodded. I’d had the same thing happen to me. I was less hopeful that Kyle though.
Kyle looked at me seriously, “If she was gone – I’d just get nothing – try it – try talking to someone you’ve loved and lost.”

Joshua... Coming Soon

“Don’t worry, Hope – he’s safe – he’s just stayed behind to try to get whoever’s taken Kallie’s memories away – Josh wants revenge – you know what he’s like.” He rolled his eyes.
I nodded. I didn’t blame him either – apart from when he was asking Wesley to put himself in danger – I couldn’t deny I would want revenge on anyone who hurt anyone that I loved too and Joshua loved Kallie – that was as plain as the nose on his face… “Who is it? Does he know yet?”
Kelsey shrugged, “He didn’t say if he does – but you know what he’s like – he has to be in a certain radius…”
I swallowed hard and nodded. What if this was the one – what if he was going to meet his soul-mate today. Joshua would never be so cruel as to destroy a fellow hybrid’s soul-mate and even if he did – the damage would already be done – Wesley would know that he was in love with that person – and he could never be mine then in any case…
Kelsey was regarding me with interest as I suffered through my personal hell. “You know, you could always tell Wes the truth…”
I stared at him, “Are you kidding me?” I asked, aghast.
He shook his head, “Nope; that boy has feelings for you – you know he does – why don’t you just let it happen...?”
I pulled a face, “Yeah, yeah – sure he likes me – we get on fine – but he’ll never be in love with me the way you are with Destiny – or the way Joshua is with Kallie – or any of the others like you lot – I’m only human remember – he couldn’t ever…”
Kelsey shook his head, “I don’t agree with you.” He said, smiling as if he knew something I didn’t, “What if he does? The first gorevans that came here all fell in love with regular humans…”
I was about to argue again, but I stopped when I saw his face; what if he did?

Hope... Coming Soon...

Hot on the heels of Tyler is Vegas... Coming Soon....

What Happens with Vegas...

“Haydn!” I hissed, “Is that Daisy Oldham?”
Haydn squinted in the fading light, “Yeah.” He grunted, “So what?”
“So, she’s supposed to be going out with Vegas.” I said indignantly, “So what’s she doing with her tongue stuck down my cousin’s throat?”
Haydn snorted, “God only knows,” he said bitchily, “He should have his tongue stuck down my throat.”
For the record – Haydn and I are best friends – nothing more – but he hasn’t come out at school – there’s a lot of backward thinking people around and he’s said he’s waiting until he gets to uni to come out – can’t say I blame him, really. We’re kind of each other’s cover. I’m happy to call myself his girlfriend and he’s happy to make me look as though I have a boyfriend. It works for us…
I chuckled, “He doesn’t look your type.” I said gently, “Otherwise he’d be over here.”
Haydn nodded, “True.” He said, “Are you going to tell Vegas that you’ve seen her?”
I sighed and shook my head. Vegas and I got on really well in our shared class for Food Tech but I couldn’t imagine telling him his girlfriend was cheating on him over a victoria sponge… “How would I tell him?”
Haydn smiled at me sympathetically, “I don’t know.” He admitted, “I can see your problem.”

What Happens with Vegas...

“Okay, break it up, break it up – who was on the field?”
Some creep had ratted on us immediately, I’ll bet it was Gordon Menzies – he was one of David Meakin’s best mates. David turned, spitting blood out of his mouth, “It was Tyler Barton – and Vegas McKenzie, although he didn’t really do anything….”
My jaw dropped. The freaking liar – he started it.
Mr Warner turned to Tyler immediately – no one would have ever expected me to hit anyone, but him… well, Tyler was Tyler. “Tyler,” he said with a long-suffering sigh, “What were you doing on the field?”
We all turned and watched as David Meakin was led away blood dripping down his school jumper.
“We were just talking, sir.” he answered with the hint of laughter in his voice.
Mr Warner wasn’t stupid. He looked it… but he wasn’t. “Let me see your hands, Tyler.”
He sighed and held them up, palms up. Mr Warner raised his eyebrows, beginning to look a little harassed. Tyler always had to push it. It was what made him such fun, “Turn them over.”
He eventually turned them over and I winced slightly as I saw the same as he and Mr Warner did; red knuckles from battering David about senseless.
“Talking?” Mr Warner asked, the corners of his mouth twitching slightly.
Tyler nodded, “It was a bit of a heated debate, sir…” he said, looking as though he was going to burst with the effort of not laughing out loud any second.
Mr Warner sighed and nodded towards the school, “I’m afraid it’s the headmaster’s office for you.”
Tyler nodded and sighed, “Fine.” He said. He put his head down and started the walk of shame back up to the school.
“Can I go with him?” I asked.
Mr Warner nodded, “Were you involved?”
I shrugged, “I could have stopped it.” I admitted.
“Go on – he needs someone like you.”
I eventually caught up with him, Tyler’s got long legs, “Sorry, mate.” I said and slapped him on the back.
He shook his head at me, “What was I supposed to do?” He asked, “Let him hit you?”
I frowned at him, “I think I could have taken him.” I offered.

He raised his eyebrows and shrugged, “Maybe,” he agreed, flashing me a grin, “but it’s what I do best.” he said, “And he deserved it.”
