St Ives

We're going back to St Ives today for another look around. We didn't see much of it the other day.
There's a charming little train station just down the road from where we are staying and behind it are the saltings marshes where I've seen most of the birds I've never seen before!
All the way in to St Ives, there are fabulous coastal views. It's not very far to drive, but there isn't really anywhere to park the car so the train is perfect.
And once again the weather is being very kind to us. Glorious sunshine at the moment!

What a great day!

Have had the best day.
We went to Falmouth, as planned and looked around for most of the day.
Then later on this afternoon we hit the beach and then tonight we went for a drink and got a takeaway curry on the way back!
It was right nice too!
See you later xx

Off to Falmouth today

Going to Falmouth today so I shall write all about it later.
Obviously being on holiday I haven't gotten around to much writing this week, so I'll hopefully find a little time later on this week when we're back home.

St Michael's Mount

What a lovely day again! The weather is being so kind to us this week.
We went to St Michael's Mount today. You can walk to it across a causeway which is very interesting.
Once you get there, it has a gift shop to browse, a cafe to sit and enjoy the views with a drink and a scone with clotted cream and jam (yum!).
We went up to the castle, but there were so many visitors we decided against going inside and instead we sat on the grassy cliff looking out over the beautiful sea and had our picnic!
Later on this afternoon, we have been down to the beach and I watched my family from my vantage point surfing the waves - I might add, I'm no swimmer!
I got some lovely photos of a flock of sandpipers though! At least I think they're sandpipers - I'm still not sure.

MUSE

Did you see Muse at Reading and Leeds?
Well, sadly I didn't get to actually be there this time but I did see the coverage on BBC3 last night and once again they didn't disappoint!
Absolutely Brilliant. I Love Muse!!!!
My only complaint was that BBC didn't show enough of the concert.

What A Lovely Day!

Went to Land's End today. What a lovely place it is.
The views were stunning. I'm sure it helped that the weather was absolutely fantastic too.
We had a lovely picnic and I got myself a fridge magnet (I must admit I like to collect them!)
I took loads of pictures and as soon as I get home I will be able to load them onto my computer and I shall showcase my best ones right here!
Birds: Starlings, Sparrows, Swallows, Seagulls, Rooks, Jackdaws and black headed gulls - I heard some skylarks too but I didn't actually see any. Oh - and on the way back there were two birds of prey circling - I'm almost certain they were buzzards because I'd seen one sitting on a post the other day in the same area - superb!

Pirates maybe...

Going to Penzance today and Lands End...I'm sure I'll be inspired to write a story full of pirates and the like after going there!
And I know I'm sad, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what birds are there too!
I shall report my findings later.... :)

Birds, birds everywhere!!!!

We're in St Ives and it is beautiful!
I'm particularly taken with all the different birds I've spotted (I'm a bit of a twitcher on the quiet).
Curlew
Common Sandpipers
Oyster Catchers
Heron
Little Egret
Reed Warbler
To name a few!
I'll keep adding to my list - I'm very proud of it!!!

St Ives!!!!!

Heyyyy! We're here.
I must say, St Ives so far is very very lovely.
Our little house is lovely and clean and tidy. We've filled the fridge with goodies and the sun is shining too - can't be bad!
I'm very much looking forward to a week of relaxing in the sun!

St Ives Here We Come...

Wooo Hoooo!!!! Only one day to go and were off to St Ives for a week. Yes, okay - perhaps not the most glamorous location in the whole world, but I really love Cornwall and we've never been to St Ives before.
We usually go to Newquay, which is a firm favourite of ours. (So is Bournemouth in Dorset - in fact Julia stays in the same hotel as we did in Julia's Horoscopes!)
St Ives may well turn up in a future book!
I've packed, the house is looking lovely, the cat's being fed by my lovely next door neighbour - it's all good!

Nearly done...

Okay so I was out by an hour and a half!
Still nowhere near finished but the house looks lovely!
All the washing has been done, most of the ironing. Screaming matches have all been successfully managed and we're all still talking to each other!

This is the plan....

Right, it's 7.30am and I'm making my plan for the day. Dishwasher on - check. Ironing pile at the ready - check. Kids both still snoring in their beds (well of course - they are teenagers!) check.
I'm going to clean the house, strip the beds, pack the clothes for our holly-wollys and if my calculations are correct (who am I kidding - I never was any good at maths) I'll be done for 2pm and then I can settle down and write some more!
Here's hoping....

My headache has gone...

Very pleased to report that my headache has now passed - may well have that bottle of wine tonight then ;)
Also very pleased to report that I have now (or at least I think I have) got my facebook page up and running too!
I am going to spend some time tomorrow writing, but I have got to pack as we're off on our hols!! Sun sea and sand hopefully - or at the very least sea and sand - I haven't checked the weather report...

:( I've got a headache!

I'm not happy. I've got a killer of a headache and it's just not budging this afternoon!
I'm going to persuade my lovely husband to come for a nice long walk around the nature reserve to get rid of it.
Since I've not been feeling it since I got in from work, I think I'll give my writing a miss this evening and just kick back and relax.
Might even buy a bottle of wine....although that ain't gonna help the head is it?
Looks like it's an orange squash and a hot date with Jamie Oliver at 9 o'clock - good times :)

Midnight Moon and The Wolf Moon

I have now finished writing Midnight Moon and it's going through the lengthy and boring process of being edited. I've made a flying start on The Wolf Moon and I'm really excited about it too!
I've put the first three chapters of Midnight Moon on my website over at www.heathermar-gerrison.co.uk on the extras page, so you can have a browse.
I'll do the same with The Wolf Moon once I get far enough with the story that I won't have gone right back to the beginning and changed everything! (Something I must admit I do a lot of!)
Anyway. It's off to the day job this morning (booooo) so I'll sign off and see you guys later!

Amethyst's Dating Game

I'm sat in the conservatory with Muse playing on the ipod. The wind is getting up a little outside and I'm fairly sure we'll get a drop or two of rain any second....now!
I'm writing a little bit of Amethyst today. I haven't visiting my old friends from Seltham for a while, having been concentrating on the good folks in my Midnight Moon saga. That one is almost finished now and I've made a start on The Wolf Moon which is the second one in the series (I hadn't planned on a serialised story but then I kind of fell in love with the characters and just had to carry on!)

So Amethyst has made a bit of a pact with Selina to get each other a date with their respective crushes. Selina's is proving somewhat difficult being in the "Friend Zone" (The worst place to be - obviously)
Selina got Amethyst her date with no worries at all except for the fact that he was already going out with someone else...oh dear. The course of true love never did run smooth I guess....
The rest of the cast are still around for a while, although we'll be saying goodbye to a couple of them at the end of the book and then I'll have to start bringing in more new ones....It's a tough job but someones gotta do it!

Stan, Remember Me...

At last!! Stan, Remember Me is now available for download from Smashwords.com at $2.99.
I have also reduced Stan from $5.99 to $2.99.
I am working on the last one at the present time and hope to have this finished by November 2011.
Hope you enjoy it as much as do writing them!
