No sign of a mouse...

So, we went out and got traps (humane ones - I'm not into killing the little critters) baited them with food... and absolutely nothing.
Heaven only knows where it might be - of course I'm hoping it jumped out the back door and ran away....
As for Bella? Well, she's asleep right now on my bed, where she usually is to be fair - she's got the life of Riley that one!

I'm gonna get that cat....

Our adorable cat Bella is not so adorable at the moment....
She hides under the bed like a big scaredy cat all night whilst it rains and pours and thunders but then under the cover of darkness she goes out on the prowl - brings in a mouse and instead of being all deadly and cat-like - she lets it go - the darned thing could be anywhere.... It's like an episode of Tom and Jerry! I'll keep you posted... Grrrr!

Wow! The lightning is incredible!

Well, the weathermen promised us lightning, but this is unbelievable! It's been lightning for around an hour and it hasn't moved away yet!

White Water....

So now that I've finished Too Easy To Pretend (which is flying off the shelves over at Smashwords - along with Summer Break; Like No Other; The One that Got Away and If I Can't Have You - I can't tell you how great it feels - thanks for your continued interest everyone!) I'm concentrating on this little project....
It's a follow on from my Stan Series and starts with White Water - Cody Conner comes to town with his family and he meets Sophie. He is immediately smitten but she can't stand him - or can she...?
The next one after that is Phase 5, then Kallie's Secret and the final one in the series, which I couldn't decide on for a while is definitely going to be called Only Human.
I'm hoping for them to be finished for Christmas (or sooner if I get cracking...)
Anyway, since the Great British Summer is in full swing; I'm off to enjoy it today - hope you have a great day wherever you are in the world!  Why not post me and tell me where you are and about your day?

“You know, I’ve been thinking…”

I looked up. “What?”
Dallas looked up from his task – he was painting my toenails for me – bright red – and yes, they looked absolutely fantastic. He grinned at me. “It’s really quite a plan – I’m very proud of myself of thinking up such a fine plan. Well, to be honest,” he shrugged modestly, “– it’s a total no-brainer. You just have to make him jealous.” He blew across his handiwork to aid the drying. It felt nice.
“Jealous?” I looked at him doubtfully. “He slept with someone else, Dal, so I’m not sure jealousy will actually feature – I clearly wasn’t good enough for him to wait for – what on earth could I do to make him want me back?”
“He needs to see what he’s missing.” Dallas grinned confidently and leaned forward slightly to grab my other leg so he could start on the next foot – his enthusiasm was catching. I found myself grinning back at him as he planted a little kiss on my ankle.
I loved it when he really grinned – it was the only time the dimple in his right cheek was so obvious – and I’d always loved that dimple…
I raised an eyebrow. “Go on then,” I said with a laugh, “– I’m listening.”
He leaned in towards me conspiratorially and lowered his voice to just above a whisper. “If you’ve got a new boyfriend – one that loves and adores you – one that positively worships the ground you walk on – and tells everyone how absolutely fantastic you are – he’s gonna want you back, like that.” Dallas snapped his fingers. The snap was very impressive.
I looked at him bemused. “Well, okay – that’s as maybe; but where am I gonna find myself such a perfect boyfriend?”
He stood up and swept a bow. “Look no further – I’m right here.” He said sitting back down and pulling my leg back onto his lap. He dipped the brush back in the bottle and carefully started applying the bright red polish to my big toe; a big sappy grin on his face.

We were walking together from English to Science and I saw Cody coming the other way. I groaned. Faron snorted with amusement at my discomfort. He kind of knew all about my terrible crush – I’d been complaining to him constantly since I’d first had to deal with Cody at the payment booth…

“Here comes lover boy.” Faron teased.
“Right back atcha.” I murmured as I saw who was behind him, “There’s Jared.”
“Oh, holy crap! This is so embarrassing now that you know!” Faron tried to make himself as inconspicuous as possible, but Jared had already removed himself from the crowd he was walking with and was making a beeline for him.
“Hey – Faron!” He called with a great big smile.
Faron made an incoherent squeaking noise that I took as panic and looked as though he was about to bolt in the opposite direction. I grabbed his arm and turned to him. “Don’t be stupid.”
