Introducing Tomas... I think you'll like him...

It had been raining for three weeks solid which made renovating the old house on the riverbank really difficult – particularly with it still being so early in the year. The ground hadn’t dried out from the winter so it was a mud pit really.
Still, we were all pitching in. Trey and Toby were totally into it and I was really enjoying working with Sawyer. He was a great guy and I’d liked him from the off. He was quiet and reserved; I got the feeling he had a story that he wasn’t ready to share yet. I also got the feeling that he really liked my sister but something was making him hold back. I wondered what it was.
Will had been noticeably absent for a few days and I’d tried not to be bothered, but it was difficult. Every time I heard the roar of a motorbike, I froze, listening for the drop in revs to turn into the lane. Time and again I was disappointed.
True reckoned he’d gone back to his flat for a few days, which was odd. He’d been sub-letting it for months so I had no idea why he was suddenly back there. I didn’t know why he’d left or whom he’d been with and I didn’t really want to know…

He was back now and that was all that mattered. He’d just pulled into the driveway on his motorbike and had disappeared into the house. Damn he looked hot – even from this distance. I loved it when he turned up wearing his bike leathers. I swear – if we ever got together I’d have him wear them on dates…

My name is Vegas McKenzie and I am officially a screw-up. It should be tattooed on my forehead, no seriously…
Everyone (Tyler especially) thinks I have the most amazing girlfriend in the whole world – Daisy Oldham. And you know – if you don’t scratch the surface too much, it’s kind of true – she is pretty incredible – she’s beautiful and smart and funny and sexy. So what’s the problem? Weren’t you paying attention? I am.
I did it again. I got drunk at a party – she wasn’t there. I must have got all needy and lonely – and ended up in bed with a random girl. Guess she must have felt the same way I did – horny. I’m not too sure – like I said – I got drunk. I really had to stop doing that…
I had to stop doing things like this, full stop. Daisy didn’t deserve a boyfriend like me. And if Tyler Barton got wind of it for a second time – I wouldn’t have a girlfriend anymore – hell, I probably wouldn’t have a dick to get me into trouble with anymore either – yes – he was that protective of her…
Tyler is – or rather, was, following the previous night’s disaster, my best mate. We’ve grown up together and until we both decided that Daisy Oldham was ‘the one’ we got on like a house on fire.
Unfortunately, it never occurred to me that Tyler was secretly in love with her until it was too late – and she was already mine…

That was a while ago now – we’d only been fifteen at the time and now we were all seventeen. Tyler still thought she was the one for him – and most of the time I still thought she was the one for me – but I can’t deny that I’d been having more than a few doubts since the best night of my life ever – with another girl… Lydia.

Happy New Year!

Just a short update to let you know what to look out for in the coming months....

Something Stupid, Inevitable and What Happens with Vegas...

These three will all hit the virtual shelves by March 2015

Conner raised an eyebrow. “Did you do something stupid?” he asked with the ghost of a smile.
I nodded maintaining my no-eye-contact façade, “Yup,” I sighed.
He brightened and sat forward in his seat, “What? You mean… did you actually tell her?” he sounded pleased and incredulous all at the same time.
I rubbed my eyes and looked up at him sheepishly; I was never any good at the whole no-eye-contact thing anyway, “Yup,”
He looked hopefully at me, “And?” he asked with a hint of a smile.
I looked at the two eager faces before me. There wasn’t a trace of gleeful mickey taking in either of them. They both knew the way I’d felt about Skye back in school and sixth form – hell, sad git that I am, they knew that I’d never felt that way about anyone since too.
I shrugged, “She already knew,” I said.

Pete came dashing around the corner and jogged towards us when he saw that we were still waiting for him. His eyes lit up and a slow lazy grin stretched across his face, “Hey, guys!” he said delightedly, “You waited.”
We all rolled our eyes and muttered amongst ourselves good-naturedly. He slung his arm around me and kissed the top of my head, “I knew you’d wait for me,” he said with a laugh, “’cause you can’t resist me since I saved your life.”
I snorted and punched him, “Yeah, right Peter – you keep telling yourself that!”
He grinned at me, “Admit it.” He said, “You love me for looking after you so well last week.”
I laughed, “It’s true – I do love you,” I said, “You’re like the big brother I never had, but I can categorically assure you that I will never fall in love with you.”
He put his hand to his heart and gave me a mock wounded look, “You know how to break a guy’s heart.” He said.
